5. Nobody In Westeros Giving A Crap About Daenerys
The Mistake: Throughout the course of the show, many important characters refer to a rumoured, distant Targaryen, one who may or may not have huge, flying, fire-breathing beasties. Nobody seems particularly concerned, however, and continues on with their day to day squabbles.
What It Cost: Nothing... yet, but it's about to. At of the close of season six, Daenerys, along with a massive army of Dothraki and Unsullied and three substantially grown dragons are heading for Westeros with the intention of taking the Iron Throne. Nobody is ready or prepared to oppose such a threat. In fact, nobody is even thinking about it.
Everybody in Westeros bar those who have met Dany firsthand (which basically amounts to Tyrion and Varys who are both by her side now anyway) barely consider her a real person let alone a tangible threat. When she arrives next season, then, there's going to be hell to pay for making such a mistake.
If the houses of Westeros took Dany seriously there'd probably be a whole lot less petty bickering over land and a lot more unification in preparation for the coming onslaught.
