Game Of Thrones: 7 Simple Fixes That Would Have Improved Season 6

3. Give Tyrion Something To Do

The Problem: One of the great crimes of this show has been to let a brilliant character like Tyrion Lannister slide into mediocrity. The show can't take all the blame here since the books first threw Tyrion into a post-Westeros funk, but seeing how the show changed this storyline so much, it's disappointing that this was all they could come up with.

Those great scenes of Tyrion verbally sparring with Tywin and Littlefinger were replaced by painful filler scenes with Grey Worm and Missandei. Thrilling scenes of him expertly playing the game of thrones were replaced with him making every wrong choice when it comes to Meereen. In short, a character many consider to be the best in the show is currently floundering.

The Solution: Give Tyrion some agency. It's not fun watching the smartest character on the show waiting around in a castle until Daenerys returns. Make the Sons of the Harpy conflict more interal and more of a mystery of who's pulling the strings which he can then investigate. Or better yet, have him actively planning the invasion of Westeros. Maybe he could be plotting with Doran Martell?

Most importantly, keep him away from Grey Worm and Missandei. Those scenes where he is literally killing time are almost as if the show is admitting they have nothing to do for him.
