5. The Quentyn Quest

And now the other Martell: Quentyn, Arianne's younger brother. And he's not trying to steal her inheritance from her, because Quentyn Martell is on his way to find Daenerys Targaryen and offer her his hand in marriage.

What?! It turns out that the Martells have been supporting the Targaryen cause all along. A secret marriage pact promised Arianne to Viserys Targaryen, but with Viserys dead, Quentyn is sent to marry Daenerys instead. Except he arrives too late €“ Daenerys has agreed to marry Hizdahr zo Loraq in return for peace in Mereen. And then she flies away. Determined not to go home empty handed, Quentyn decided to steal a dragon. And the results are predictably deadly.

Out of the two Martell storylines there's a slightly bigger chance that we might see this one in the future, given that it is a secret mission (the show does like its dramatic reveals). It's still unlikely though, which takes something away from the show. Many people don't like the Quentyn Quest - but it's not about the Quest itself. It tells us that Daenerys does have allies in Westeros if she ever gets round to invading. That is, unless someone else gets there first...
