Game Of Thrones: 8 Huge Predictions For The Second Half Of Season Six

6. Cleganebowl Is Genuinely Going To Happen

For the uninitiated, Cleganebowl is an extremely prominent fan theory that involves the return of Sandor Clegane (The Hound) in order to fight his brother Gregor Clegane (The Mountain). Generally this fight is speculated to take place during a trial by combat scenario.

Well, in the show we've got that trial by combat: Cersei's judgement by the Faith Militant. We've also got The Mountain firmly on team Cersei. Which just leaves The Hound to show up and fight for the Sparrow, right? Well, that bit makes slightly less sense. There are a bunch of reasons in the books to believe The Hound might still be alive, but the books and show are two different entities. When you think about it, however, there are signs that point to his return in the show, too. At the very least, the show seems suspiciously eager to ensure viewers don't forget who the character is. Despite his death over a season ago, we're still repeatedly being reminded through Arya and the House of Black and White that she left him for dead, and that she didn't necessarily want him to die.

Couple that with the fact that season six episode seven is titled The Broken Man – a reference to a speech in the books by Septon Meribald, which takes place at the monastery where it's strongly believed The Hound is present disguised as a grave digger – and it seems very likely he's coming back.
