By far one of Game Of Thrones' most iconic images is that of the Iron Throne. A spin-off that retains this central conflict, then, has the potential to be incredibly popular, and one of the most exciting conflicts surrounding the Iron Throne are the Blackfyre Rebellions.
The Blackfyres opposed the reign of House Targaryen, believing they held claim to the throne. The first Blackfyre rebellion was carried out by Daemon Blackfyre, the bastard son of King Aegon IV Targaryen, along with his cousin Daene Targaryen. This spawned a massive civil war, with enough death and violence to fuel a good number of episodes. And that's just the first of five rebellions!
While Game Of Thrones is known for its merging of action and political drama, the weight tends to bow in favour of the drama.
