Game Of Thrones: 9 Awful Moments That Were Way Worse In The Books

8. Ramsay's Wedding Night

We all remember that scene from Game Of Throne's Season 5. It was a scene that caused such a stir that even Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill stated she was "done with Game Of Thrones". Sansa was married off to Ramsay Bolton (or Snow) who brutally raped her while he had his slaveboy Reek (or Theon) watch the entire ordeal. It caused such an uproar that George R.R. Martin received a flood of emails from angry fans. Would you believe that the scene in the books, although different, was worse than the version we're exposed to on screen? Well, you probably know that in the books, it's not Sansa who marries Ramsay, but her childhood friend Jeyne Poole (who is posing as Arya Stark). On their wedding night, Ramsay tells Theon to disrobe her using a knife, then forces him to "get her ready" for him. Of course Theon is confused as he has no "equipment" to get the job done. Ramsay tells him to use his mouth, and Theon, though reluctant at first, does as he is told, and so he is forced to assault Jeyne. Also when Theon tries to break her out of Winterfell, Jeyne thinks it's a trick and refuses to go with him;
"No. This is some trick. It's him, it's my ... my lord, my sweet lord, he sent you, this is just some test to make sure that I love him. I do, I do, I love him more than anything." A tear ran down her cheek. "Tell him, you tell him, I'll do what he wants ... or whatever he wants ... with him ... or ... or with the dog or ... please ... he doesn't need to cut my feet off, I won't try to run away, not ever, I'll give him sons, I swear it, I swear it ..."
"Or with the dog?" 'Nuff said.
