Game Of Thrones: 9 Awful Moments That Were Way Worse In The Books

6. Brienne's Face Gets Bitten Off

Brienne of Tarth already looks a lot better on screen (she is portrayed by actress Gwendoline Christie) than she does in the books, where she is described as being unfeminine, unattractive, covered in freckles, has swollen lips, crooked teeth and a broken, uneven nose. What makes it even worse for ol' Brienne, is the fact that she gets her face bitten off. Yes, literally. Long after Roge and Biter (the two guys locked inside the same cage as Jaqen H'Ghar back in Season 2) are freed by Arya, the two meet Brienne and her sidekick Podrick Payne at an inn and they end up in a fight. While they battle it out, Biter attacks Brienne and ends up munching on her already-not-very-sexy face.
"Biter's mouth tore free, full of blood and flesh. He spat, grinned, and sank his pointed teeth into her flesh again. This time he chewed and swallowed. He is eating me, she realized, but she had no strength left to fight him any longer."
Gendry proceeds to save her, but she still walks around Westeros with half-eaten yucky face.
