Game Of Thrones: 9 New Characters Set To Appear In Season 7

7. Gate Guard

Description: Gate Guard, in his 20s. This character is a “Confident, characterful, straight-talking Northern lad with a great face to play across a very excellent series of scenes.” He needs to have “wit, timing, and charisma.” He’ll film between mid-October and mid-November.

Who It Could Be: This is one of the more straightforward examples, with a pretty straight toss-up between two key locations for where this character is from. He's obviously in the North, and since he's guarding a gate, that means either Winterfell or Castle Black.

Since he's filming for around a month, it indicates a decent chunk of screentime - and very excellent screentime at that, apparently - which suggests he'll be based at Winterfell. It's harder to see the show spending quite as much time at the Wall, whereas Winterfell is a central location for some big storylines, and with all of the Bolton men gone, new faces are going to be needed. He sounds like a bit of a Dolorous Edd type, which Jon could certainly use next to him now he's parted from the new Lord Commander.
