Unfairly underused during his time on the show, Gendry was an unacknowledged bastard of Robert Baratheon, growing up unaware of his lineage.
In the show's early run, he formed a bond with Arya Stark and was instrumental in her escape from King's Landing and subsequent life on the road.
Humble and selfless, Gendry disappeared for a long time in the middle of the show, only to return in the final seasons as an ally of Jon Snow.
Though his arc was somewhat inconsistent, he was overall an endearing character - and one of the few good guys to get the happy ending they deserved.
