Game Of Thrones: Power Ranking Every Major House
6. House Tully
Status: Nearly Extinct
Remaining Family Members: Edmure, Roslin, Unnamed Son of Edmure and Roslin
Family Members Lost: Hoster, Brynden
House Tully is currently on the verge of extinction. With the patriarch Hoster Tully dying in the third season, the name and castle of House Tully falls to his son Edmure.
When Robb Stark went back on his word to Walder Frey, he offered his uncle Edmure Tully as a replacement groom for Lord Walder’s daughter. The union of Edmure and Roslin Frey results in the heartbreaking massacre known as the Red Wedding. Edmure is then captured and put into the Frey’s dungeon while his sister Caitlin is murdered and his uncle disappears. Following the Red Wedding, the family castle of Riverrun is given to the Freys and the Tully family is all but forgotten.
In the most recent season, Edmure’s uncle Brynden the Blackfish reappears and recaptures the family castle from the Freys. Using his nephew Edmure as a weapon, Jamie Lannister is able to retake Riverrun and return control to the Freys while also killing The Blackfish. With Edmure returning to his cell at The Twins, the Tully family appears to remain in a bad position.
Prospects For The Future:
During his time with Jamie Lannister, we learn that Edmure had a son with his wife on the night of the Red Wedding. This son is likely being raised at The Twins by the Frey family. If Arya is able to free her uncle from the Frey dungeon after killing Walder, the Tully family may go into hiding in the North. If they are unable to reclaim their home at Riverrun, House Tully will simply fade into memories.
