Game Of Thrones Prequel: 9 Reasons To Be Excited (& 1 To Be Concerned)
5. A New Cast
One of the best things about Game of Thrones is its incredible cast, who have brought Martin's characters to life in stunning fashion (for the most part, anyway).
While it'll be a shame to say goodbye to them, they also give reason to be optimistic about the future. Even when the show was a (relatively) unknown property it managed to attract some serious talent (albeit with some real pilot issues), and now it's the biggest show in the world. It's hard to think of it getting much better, really, but there should at least be a lot more possibilities.
Ideally, it'll stick with what's worked for Thrones by casting some established actors alongside emerging talent, although specific names are harder to predict (but actors that are frequently bandied about for Thrones such as Richard Armitage and Jared Harris would probably fit just about anywhere), and if it can land a cast as strong as Game of Thrones - and there's little reason to suspect it won't - then that's a major win before an episode has even aired.
