Game Of Thrones Prequel: 9 Reasons To Be Excited (& 1 To Be Concerned)

4. A Completely Different Westeros

Westeros as we know it really came together with Aegon's Conquest, which united the kingdoms under one rule, although of course many of the Great Houses had existed long before then.

That means the Westeros of the spin-off is going to be very different. For starters, there'll be no Iron Throne, the seat of power that has driven so many characters of Game of Thrones.

For sure, leaders of these houses will each have their squabbles, but it's not the kind of continent that could be torn apart by the War of the Five Kings, and indeed some of the most famous landmarks won't even exist when this show begins. It'll be a Westeros that's more barren, or in a more positive spin, greener, and should have a really different, unique feel to it that stands apart from Game of Thrones.
