Game Of Thrones: Ranking Every Major Battle From Worst To Best
10. Attack At Daznak's Pit
In all honesty, there's not a massive amount of positive things anyone could say about the whole Meereen plotline: it all felt a little like stalling in order to allow other key chess pieces to be moved into place before Dany was allowed to move on with her plan for the Iron Throne.
There were flashes of intrigue though and the promise of the Sons Of The Harpy rising up and attempting to take her down stood out as at least mildly interesting (particularly as they managed to take down Barriston Selmy and badly wound Greyworm). For a while there, the battle also looked like it might take even bigger scalps with Dany surrounded (and admittedly her betrothed was killed off, though he was a narrative inconvenience anyway, so good riddance).
Luckily though, Drogon came back after putting his grumpiness at Dany aside, burns her enemies and foreshadows the dragons' vulnerability by being injured by spears before Dany does the honourable thing and abandons her allies to fly away to safety.
