Game Of Thrones: Ranking Every Season 6 Storyline From Worst To Best

2. The Three-Eyed Raven

Game Of Thrones Season 6 Euron Greyjoy Jon Snow
HBO

Key Characters: Bran Stark, Meera Reed, Hodor, Benjen Stark, Children of the Forest, The Night King

Best Moment: Hold the door.

Worst Moment: Cutting the Tower of Joy sequence short.

In contrast with every other season, Bran Stark's storyline is one of the best. His flashback sequences provide some much needed backstory, expanding upon the lore of the universe. The Tower of Joy segment gives fans one of the best one-on-one battles ever, cracking the morally righteous armor of long-dead Ned Stark and providing some fascinating insight into just how important honor was to him.

Later on, in one of the most devastating moments in the show to date, the audience realizes that Bran is to blame for Hodor's condition, moments before the latter's heroic and horrific death. After five and a half years, the show had found yet another way to completely shock its audience. There isn't a dry eye in the house after the death of the fan-favorite gentle giant, one of the greatest deaths to ever occur on television.

Additionally, the season finale provides a surprise for television viewers, and sweet vindication for book readers, as one the most logical and popular fan theories of all time is finally confirmed: R+L=J.

The main complaint here comes from the stretching out of the Tower of Joy sequences. With Part 1 taking place in Episode 3, and Part 2 taking place in Episode 10, fans grew restless over the frustrating cliffhanger.

However, there really is no argument that the reveal is worth the wait.
