Game of Thrones Season 3: 10 Characters Who Underwhelmed

8. Petyr Baelish

Baelish Granted, somebody€™s probably going to disagree with me on this, and obviously, that €˜chaos is a ladder€™ speech is fantastic. But unlike Jon Snow€™s consistent misery-fest, we didn€™t get enough of Littlefinger. Usually, he oscillates between creepily weird and gloriously Machiavellian in every scene he€™s in, whether locking horns with Varys or moving the pieces behind the scenes. He livened up seasons one and two, and was always important. But last season? Not so much. The only point Baelish seemed to have this series was season was to letch around Sansa. No offence to Sansa, but she€™s hardly as important as the entire realm. Rather than engaging all the parts of Littlefinger, we had to make do with the creepy pervert as he set his sights on a future quest in The Vale. Then he went and straight-up vanished from the season. Obviously, Littlefinger€™s diminished role is a problem that will soon be solved in the next season, but watching a season without him firing on all his manipulating cylinders was like having ice-cream without chocolate. Yes it€™s enjoyable, but it€™s not all it could be.
