Game of Thrones Season 3: 10 Characters Who Underwhelmed

5. Jojen Reed

Jojen Hot on the tail of his anonymous sister is Jojen Reed. Really, Jojen should be an interesting character €“ he€™s wise beyond his years, has supernatural gifts and is just all-around strange. But this season, he€™s been something of a buzz-kill, like that friend you have who€™s just too stoned or dense to hold a proper conversation with. Sure, I guess that€™s the point of this otherworldly character, but occasionally it makes it hard to get on his side. Of course, this is worse because Thomas Brodie-Sangster is a good actor. Whether imploring his step-dad to go get the snot (family website) kicked out of him by love in Love Actually, or portraying a tragic hoodlum in BBC drama The Accused, he€™s got plenty of range and can put on a good performance. However, it appears here that he was told to act baked all the time. Yet we could forgive him that if the character acted wise €“ Gandalf and Albus Dumbledore practically made careers out of the stoned wise man role €“ but aside from his impressive wolf-hypnotising introduction he doesn€™t seem to have much use at all. He€™s shocked when Bran warged into Hodor and couldn€™t explain it, meaning any aura of wisdom he had is now surely shattered €“ he's now as out of his depth as the rest of them So if he can€™t fight, can€™t hunt and now can€™t explain things, what is the point of him?
