Game Of Thrones Season 3: 6 Subplots It Must Include

6. Arya and The Hound

thehound Fans of Sandor Clegane may have been disappointed with the lack of interaction between he Sansa in the second season, a dynamic foil that was fairly fleshed out in the text. We can hope to see more of The Hound when it comes to his kidnapping of Arya and subsequent travels. Arya already has some bad blood with him after the killing of Mycah, the butcher's boy in the first season, so there is already something to go off of in that regard. It would also be great to see a hungover Hound fight Beric Dondarrion for his freedom before he kidnaps Arya in an attempt to sell her for ransom. The two arrive at the Twins as the Red Wedding takes place, so it's possible they start this storyline earlier in the season and have it lead up to the Red Wedding, which most likely will appear in one of the last three episodes of the season. One of the more significant turning points happens afterwards, though, at the Inn at the Crossroads in which the two encounter Gregor's men and the two groups fight, resulting in Sandor's injuries (which are worsened by his constant drunkenness). We see Arya dress his wounds and refuse him the mercy of a quick death, leaving him abandoned under a tree at The Trident. We will most likely see this play out in season 4, but it would be ideal to begin the subplot earlier in season 3. Arya's relationship with the Hound is complex, but it's pretty clear they are somewhat similar, and develop a grudging respect for each other during their traveling road show. The potential for hilarious as well as dramatic moments between the two is great, so the inclusion of this duo is a must.
