Game Of Thrones Season 3: 6 Subplots It Must Include

5. Daenerys And The Unsullied

danywoo We can only guess which story lines will be fit into the season, which will most likely cover the first half of A Storm of Swords. They may decide to move certain story lines up or slow others down to accomodate actor's schedules or contracts. But it's harder to figure out where they will place events that happen in the middle of the book. The bigger question, for some storylines, is what will happen at what time. For example when Daenerys steals the army of Unsullied. If the plot goes along with the pace of the first half of the book, she will forcibly take the army halfway through the season, then take the city of Yunkai and then march onto Mereen. What we should be seeing this season is Dany as a military general - taking Yunkai could make for some great scenes in the show, and could easily be spread over two or three episodes. If they decide to cut her taking this city, they would instead probably just end the season with her taking Meereen which leaves her storyline too far ahead of the rest of the characters. But Dany using her dragons to steal an army happens to fall under the epic badass category, and the show's writers may want to save it for later in the season, perhaps episode 9 or 10, especially considering the amount of special effects and editing it requires. Hopefully we get to see it happen earlier in the season, but if it doesn't, it has the potential to uneven the pace of her storyline again, something she suffered from this past season - unless they figure out how to beef up the Jorah/Barristan/Whitebeard plot - a reveal we're all looking forward to. Since the finale of the first season, viewers have been waiting to see what Dany's baby dragons can do. And if HBO does the Unsullied storyline justice while managing to smooth the pacing of the rest of her arc in the season, we'll be golden.
