Game Of Thrones Season 5: Ranking All Episodes Worst To Best
2. Episode 10 - Mother's Mercy
The dust has barely settled from the season finale, but there's no doubt that it was a great ending to Season 5, regardless of the meltdown surrounding Jon's demise. People are already desperate for his return, while others are whinging about not watching the show any longer because he's gone. Well here's a newsflash, not all stories end well for everyone, and while Jon's death is tragic, great stories could spawn from that, and the show is bigger than one character. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that he could be resurrected, and hopefully he is, but if not, the show will go on and there's full confidence it'll be spectacular, with or without Snow. Stannis' hopeless end to his claim on the Throne was shot perfectly, cutting the action away and focusing on the man behind it all. His scene with Brienne could be construed as 'he didn't die on screen', but let's face it, there's no way Brienne didn't chop him up good and proper. Reek's redemption began as he and Sansa leapt for freedom, Daenerys was surrounding by Dothraki riders, Tyrion and Varys were paired up again, Jorah and Daario set out on their double friendzone quest, Arya annihilated Meryn Trant before going blind, Myrcella is poisoned by Ellaria and dies in Jaime's arms, the Mountain made a re-animated comeback, and Cersei's long walk of shame was outstandingly accomplished. Best Moment: There's no getting past it, Jon Snow's death was as brutal as any execution, with each Night's Watch brother plunging their knives through his heart and the hearts of the fans too. Is it really the end?
