Game Of Thrones Season 5: Ranking All Episodes Worst To Best

4. Episode 9 - The Dance Of Dragons

Now as the season rumbled on, things seriously started to heat up, including Little Shireen Baratheon (too soon?) who was burned to the stake by her own father in a desperate bid for his failing forces to triumph in battle. Jaime and Bronn reach an amicable outcome in Dorne, though tensions are kicked up a notch as the wildlings pass through Castle Black. The episode ran its course in Meereen with the fighting pits re-opening. Jorah entered full beast mode before saving Daenerys from the Harpy assassination attempt, regaining some of her favour, as she took his hand in a beautiful moment that had Lord Friendzone supporters everywhere going wild. Drogon's rescue was outstanding, and the effects on the stationary dragon were excellent, though the episode loses some points for the unpolished flight visuals. It is picky, but let's face it, those effects slightly took the shine off a spectacular scene. Best Moment: While Meereen provided drama, the episode's most powerful moment was Shireen's cruel death. Game of Thrones treads where other shows dare not, and her off-camera screams were highly, highly distressing. It was a grim, harrowing end for the young girl who was probably the sweetest child in the show's history.
