Game Of Thrones Season 6: 14 New Cast Members You Need To Know About

12. Richard E. Grant

Game Of Thrones Ian Mcshane

The Actor: Richard E. Grant broke onto the scene back in 1987, playing the titular Withnail in the film Withnail and I, before going on to achieve more global fame with his portrayal of John Seward in Bram Stoker's Dracula. In the two decades or so since then he has established himself very much as a strong character actor, with performances in films such as L.A. Story, Gosford Park, and of course Spice World.

He has also appeared in a few episodes of Doctor Who, which makes him a natural fit for Game of Thrones as he'll be one of over 20 actors to appear on both series, having portrayed the Great Intelligence across three episodes, and also playing the Doctor himself outside of continuity,

The Role: Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, Grant looks set to be playing an actor and manager of a theatre troupe in Braavos, who will be forming a part of Arya's storyline, and isn't particularly kind to his fellow actors off-stage. They'll be putting on a show-within-the show, and it seems as though Grant could be a version of Izembaro, otherwise known as King of the Mummers. He is an associate of the Faceless Men, and plays King Robert Baratheon in the play. Reports suggest that he'll be around for three episodes in season 6.
