Season 6 came back with the same rich characterization but a whole new feel. We were rewarded for our patience with a much more concise and energetic pace. This new feel and slide toward fantasy has been refreshing but sacrifices have been made rather abruptly to remind us that this is still Game Of Thrones. The bodies are mounting as quickly as our excitement.

There are so many things that could plausibly cancel Cleganebowl and don't think for a second that those bloody writers don't have the guts to do it. Shocking swerves in this show normally come attached to an anticlimax. Look at the Oberyn Martel arc, fake builds to a huge climax of fan service is the main delivery system for shocking moments in this world.

Let us not forget how anticipated the fight between Jamie and Ned was. Beautifully woven through the entire season, we even got a taste of it, but just as the old wolf started to turn the tide and the fight started to tell a very interesting story it was snatched away disappointingly. This ultimately established one trope's dominance above all, using Ned's example; nobody is safe. Ned's Law.
