1. Seriously, Prepare Yourself For Despair

In case you missed the fact, this battle is not very even. Look at Sansa's face: she knows they're going to lose. Jon knows they'll lose if the armies battle. Ramsay knows it too. So let's all be prepared for lots of deaths and emotional costs you can taste.

Something - other than Wun Wun - is going to have to swoop in to save the day. Personally, I'm counting on an about-turn by the Umbers, designed to divide and conquer the Bolton forces from within. That can be the only way this plays out to a victory for the Starks (because the dragons aren't going to pop up and it's unlikely it'll be called off for a White Walkers appearance).

But that doesn't mean there won't be significant casualties along the way. If Tormund is among them, I'm throwing myself in the nearest river.

Unfortunately, he's expendable. Even if it will rob us all of the glorious sight of Brienne lifting him into her gigantic arms and carrying him off to her tent to make wild, violent snoo-snoo with him.

And so too is Davos expendable, probably: unless Jon needs him to find Gendry in the next season or something, he's played his part as heroic sidekick too well this year and it's hard not to see him flaming out.

Again, if he goes, it'll be awful.
