4. Varys Stokes The Fires
Many events from Season 6 have been relatively predictable,
but you forgot about Varys’ secret mission didn’t you? Nobody has any idea what
is going on with his storyline, but you know for a fact it will be incredibly
important and incredibly devious.
It seems highly unlikely that Varys is a double-agent acting on behalf of Cersei although King’s Landing does appear to be an attractive destination for Varys to wreak some destruction and capitalise on the pure havoc currently engulfing the city.
A curveball suggestion is that he may have headed to Oldtown in search of a maester to add to Daenerys ranks. Samwell Tarly joining Daenerys’ cause, perhaps? That may seem farfetched but the latter storyline seriously needs some attention to prevent it from being nothing more than a damp squib, while Sam would also be able to prepare Daenerys for the real war to come between ice and fire.
