Game Of Thrones Season 6 Finale: 5 Hints Lady Stoneheart Will Appear
1. The Brotherhood's "Purpose"

As Beric Dondarrion said to the Hound while trying to recruit him, he has to believe that he serves a greater purpose than simply wandering around forests being a Robin Hood sort of figure. He knows there is a reason Thoros was able to bring him back from the dead multiple times, and until he finds that purpose he won't stop looking.
The way that episode set it up, the professed purpose was to fight the White Walkers, but who is to say that his real purpose isn't serving Lady Stoneheart in gaining revenge for her family? This wasn't a full reflection of the Brotherhood's numbers, and we may well see the Hound meeting more of them (and their undead "leader") in the finale.
It would take some serious rewriting, obviously, but that has always been suggested as the way season 6 would deal with the story beyond Martin's original texts. And it would be a great swerve to have Beric serving Stoneheart rather than making way for her.
