Can you believe the new season of Game of Thrones is almost over? It seemed like just yesterday we were getting grossed out by naked decrepit Melissandre in Episode 1, but now there are only three more episodes left before we enter the Long Wait once again. As depressing as that is, recent news suggests we might be in for the biggest season-ender yet - in more ways than one.

Firstly, EW has reported that the Season 6 finale will be the longest episode in the shows history, clocking in at an epic 69 minutes. Its been said that the subsequent seasons may be reduced, so a few super-sized episodes will help ease that pain. And with so many story lines to wrap up, that extra time is much needed. Hopefully its not wasted on some Previously On malarkey.

The previously leaked titles were also confirmed, with Episode 9 titled 'The Battle of the Bastards' and Episode 10 titled 'The Winds of Winter'. The title for the penultimate episode is rather straight-forward and appears to be when Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton finally go head-to-head. Weve been teased that this season will feature the shows biggest battle yet and with Miguel Sapochnik (who directed last year's incredible Hardhome) at the helm, its sure to be an intense hour of television.

The finale title is a bit more mysterious. Apart from being a nod to George R.R. Martins sixth book in the series, it has an ominous feel that suggest it could be a real game-changer.

So there you have it. You probably didnt need anymore reason to tune in for the final episodes but news like this makes the wait intolerable. The sixth season has overall been very strong, and while well be sad to see it end, it looks like its going to end with a bang.
