14. Varys
Varys has been on the scene for a long time now. It seems an age since we were incredibly suspicious of everything he did back in Season 1, though his plan is beginning to play out and remarkably he's turning into a bit of a cult-hero with fans. Who could've possibly expected that back at the start?
His fantastic partnership with Tyrion led the pair straight to Meereen, though it took a while longer for Varys to keep up. They made it to Volantis, though Jorah Mormont seized Tyrion and took him to Daenerys himself. This left Varys in the lurch and went missing for a great swathe of Season 5. He's got plenty to catch up on, and Season 6 will be a big year for the Eunuch who will now be partially tasked with running the city.
