2. Westeros Is Forced To Unite Or Die

"If we don't put aside our enmities and band together, we will die. And then it doesn't matter whose skeleton sits on the Iron Throne." As ever it falls to Davos Seaworth to be the supreme voice of reason in Westeros - but will anybody listen to him?

Obviously Jon is on his side, but they'll have a job on their hands convincing anyone outside of the North that the real threat lies on the other side of the Wall, as Daenerys and Cersei battle for the rule of the Seven Kingdoms.

We've already had a shot of Jon and Davos at Dragonstone, where they'll be attempting to convince Dany of their mission (this is likely episode 3, where "Dany holds court"). As things stand she's singularly focused on the Iron Throne, as it's all she has wanted, but with time it's plausible she'll come around: she has wise advisors beside her, and is related to Jon Snow too (something he will at least discover in Season 7, and she might too).

Cersei, on the other hand, is far less likely to respond to that notion. If Jon meets Daenerys (which he obviously will), then it stands to reason that he also meets Cersei too, in an attempt to convince her to fight against the White Walkers. And this is where we'll get the decisions that divide characters and loyalties, with a huge impact for the future.

Of everyone in the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei is the only one (along with Euron, but I anticipate him being dead before this point) who will ultimately resist fighting the White Walkers, and that means she is going to die. Major characters will be coming together this year, and Cersei's rule could be the ruin of the realm. So we're likely to see her death, probably in Season 7 (but there's a chance it'll be pushed back to 8) at the hand of her brother Jaime, and the realm rallies to the real fight.
