Game Of Thrones Season 7: 11 Crucial Things That Must Happen
9. Jorah Gets Cured
We, along with Daenerys, bade an emotional farewell to Jorah Mormont in Season 6, with her trusted advisor going off after promising the seemingly impossible: being cured of the greyscale that is threatening to consume his entire body.
No cure is known, despite the disease being around for roughly a thousand years or so. Shireen Baratheon's was prevented from spreading, but she was a child (it's worse for adults) and it took a lot just to achieve that.
One theory - which I'm buying into - is that it will take a meeting with Quaithe, the mysterious figure from Season 2, to find a cure. She appears to possess knowledge of the disease, and may hold the key to curing it. The alternative is that it's found at the Citadel, perhaps with the help of Jim Broadbent's Archmaester (he could be Ebrose from the books, who is Westeros' expert in healing).
I don't think greyscale is how Jorah dies, but I do think he'll go out in Season 7. After finding a cure, he'll once again return to Daenerys, serve by her side, and then tragically but heroically die for her in battle. A much more fitting end.
