Winter is here, and the winds that come with it have carried in a bunch of new photos from Game of Thrones Season 7.
While we've already had a couple of teasing looks at the upcoming season, they've been involved in other HBO promotional material, or the specifically created Long Walk teaser. These images are purely Thrones, and are stills very much taken from the forthcoming seventh season.
Even with 15 images released there are a number of major characters missing - where is Bronn, ffs?! - but this is the best look yet at Season 7, and features many of the main characters we'll be seeing in July.
It surely means that a proper trailer can't be too far off (they seem to enjoy releasing all these teasers on a Thursday, so a Thursday towards the middle of May seems like a decent (if very speculative) bet). Until that time comes, though, these images are the best thing we have to go on for Season 7. And having been starved for Game of Thrones for months now (and an even longer-than-usual wait), it of course means we're going to analyse every detail of them.
15. Cersei And Jaime
Jaime did not look too impressed with Cersei at the end of Season 6, as he arrived back in King's Landing just in term for her coronation. However, while that did hint at a conflict between the siblings/lovers, he's still by her side here, which presumably comes (as I'm guessing many of these images do) from the first episode of Season 7.
We've already seen Cersei's new regal outfit, but Jaime has had a bit of a makeover too, to reflect the fact that the Lannisters are back in power (and thus the blend of crown and faith sigils needs to go).
Also note that Jaime is carrying Widow's Wail, the Valyrian steel sword given to Joffrey, which hasn't been seen since Joffrey's funeral. Given Valyrian steel can kill White Walkers, it's going to have added pertinence later on. It also appears as though they're greeting someone in the Throne Room here, and neither of them look too happy about it (though do they ever?). Perhaps someone is bringing them word of Daenerys' arrival in Westeros, or Jaime is just thinking about how he's going to have to straight-up murder another ruler, and this time its his sister, and also the woman he loves.
