30. Ghost Got Screwed

Let's get this out of the way early: Ghost was completely screwed by season 7, and you really have to wonder why they didn't just valiantly kill the direwolf off at an earlier point in the show.

Sure, he was apparently due to appear in the second episode, sharing a farewell with Jon at Winterfell (a scene that was pretty unsurprisingly cut), but even that wouldn't have been enough. His disappearance also fundamentally makes no sense: he's a valuable weapon, and one who absolutely should have gone with Jon to Dragonstone and even more pertinently, beyond the Wall. Not taking him just looks stupid.

And obviously, there were issues with effects, but again, if that was really the case, why not just kill Ghost off rather than being faced with a situation where he's literally just ghosted out of relevance?
