9. Gendry Disappears Again

After waiting years, the short, sharp injection of Gendry in season 7 was a beautiful thing. He had been one of the most hotly-anticipated returning characters in the entire show, and the delivery of his return was mostly perfect: he was charming, engaging and wanted to fight alongside Jon. He had no airs and graces and wanted to fight an enemy he didn't even know, because that was the right thing to do.

If you weren't already swooning over him when he rode away, when he returned with his shorn locks and his harder muscles, it was a done deal.

Unfortunately though, the show deferred to type, and as quickly as he appeared in Eastwatch, he disappeared before the final episode. With every single other member of the Northern raiding party accounted for - whether they were left at Eastwatch or taken to King's Landing - Gendry simply evaporated. Like, seriously, where the hell did he go?
