Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Big Rumours That Are Probably True

As WhatCulture's Simon has been quick to point out, Sam's attempt to treat Jorah Mormont's horrific case of greyscale started at the nipple and clearly caused the exiled knight some extreme pain. It can't be so easy to cure a disease that has perplexed most of Westeros' Maesters for years, but it has to happen.

Why? Jorah must be cured because losing his mind to greyscale would be the cheapest death on the show so far. He's been through a ludicrous amount of trials in the hope of being permitted to protect his 'Khaleesi', and the superb scene between Jorah and Daenerys as she commanded him to find a cure would be wasted if he is sent to Valyria to live with the Stone Men.

Will Sam be cast out of the Citadel for carrying out the forbidden procedure on Ser Jorah? Probably, but it does mean we get a major player back in the mix and Sam's story could head towards its more natural conclusion of him living out his days with Gilly as the great narrator of the story.

Time will tell but you can be fairly certain that Ser Jorah will be pursuing Daenerys in his own obsessive way long into Season 8.
