Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Major Fan Theories About Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen

2. Or It's The Other Way Around

Another where the theory also works the other way around, it could instead be that Daenerys Targaryen is Azor Ahai Reborn, which then puts Jon Snow as Nissa Nissa.

Indeed, Daenerys has perhaps more working in her favour than anyone else when it comes to being Azor Ahai: the salt of her tears as she stepped into Khal Drogo's (smoking) funeral pyre (she was also born on Dragonstone, which could also be the 'born of salt'); awaking dragons from stone, after which the sky bled (the red comet); and she's of the line of Aerys and Rhaella.

Azor Ahai clearly has a connection to the Lord of Light, as seen by Melisandre's belief, and Daenerys is much more closely linked to fire than Jon Snow (even if he might now be considered a 'fire wight').

That in turn could mean Jon being Nissa Nissa. Dying to save the realm does admittedly feel more of a Jon Snow thing to do than Daenerys, and it'd be another subversion of fantasy tropes (and Westeros history repeating itself, but with a twist) that George R.R. Martin is so particularly fond of. If you have to picture one of these driving a sword into the other - even though, in Daenerys' case, a dragon is a stronger contender for Lightbringer surely - it's Dany into Jon, although it is very Buffy (but that's no bad thing).
