Game Of Thrones Season 7 Implications: What "Stormborn" Really Means

8. The Tarlys Join The Lannisters

After Randyll Tarly proved himself a colossal prick back in season 6 (cementing the reputation hinted at by Sam previously), it was only a matter of time before his arc changed to put him in harm's way in the future, so that we could see karma take his scalp. That path is now firmly set, thanks to his new allegiance to Cersei.

Absolutely taken in by Cersei's fake news announcement (though she might have a point about the dangers of the Dothraki invading), the head of House Tarly - a fearsome warrior in Jaime's opinion (which goes a long way) - was effectively elevated to the position of secondary military leader under the Lannister banner.

That means we'll see him dealing with the Tyrell army, since Tyrion rightly decided that having the Dothraki and the Unsullied attack King's Landing would be a PR disaster and the Dornish army was taken out of the game almost immediately. And it also means they'll probably, eventually come face to face with the Dothraki as Dany is forced to "be the dragon" Olenna Tyrell urged her to be when she runs out of other options.
