Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Things Fans HATED
4. Those Sloppy Lapses Of Logic
We've got pacing as a massive issue. We've got a lack of conviction in meaningful conversations as an issue. And on top of that, even the stuff DnD did come up with falls apart under scrutiny, or for anyone paying attention.
Where to begin?
In the first episode, Dany is told about the wall being destroyed and Viserion being taken by the Night King, but she doesn't react. The problem? This is new information to her, yet it's played off as a self-aware joke when Bran expedites the rest of the conversation as "not having time for this".
During the Battle of Ice & Fire, we constantly show characters being swarmed by Wights, only to come back when the ranks are thinned and they're totally fine again. If you watch the various scenes back, both Jon and Dany are shown with enemies charging in... only for it not to have any impact.
Next episode, after Rhaegal is taken out, David Benioff claimed that this was because Dany "forgot about the Iron Fleet" when flying south. O... kay.
This then leads to Missandei being kidnapped during the ensuing chaos, but it would require a member of the Iron Fleet swimming in to pluck her out from amongst her companions - just so she could be executed by The Mountain at the end of that episode.
THEN there's the fact the Dothraki are shown to be wiped out, only to return multiple times, or Arya ending episode 5 on horseback, then starting the finale at the Red Keep with her horse having disappeared.
Lastly, Grey Worm tells Tyrion that because he's a prisoner, he's not to talk, only for Tyrion to literally outline a system of rulership that will govern the future of the world as we know it.
Just... what.
