Game Of Thrones Season 8: 7 Clues From Episode 3's Trailer

3. The Crypt Is Attacked

Varys Game Of Thrones

While the second episode spent way more time than could possibly be healthy establishing that the Crypt at Winterfell is absolutely safe and an impenetrable fortress for the non-combatants trapped there (like Tyrion, Varys, Sansa and Sam), this third episode seems to be shattering that illusion pretty firmly.

Not only do we get to see worried faces like Varys' above, but we also see shots of some of our heroes defending Winterfell from withint its walls. That means the outer defences - led by the Unsullied, the Dothraki under Ser Jorah and Brienne and Jaime's left flank defence force - have all or partly failed.

If that is the case, the Crypt that was initially considered a haven will become a tomb, unless there is a way out of there that has not yet been discovered. Could there be tunnels? If not, those holed up in there will be in serious, serious trouble.

This is also probably the set-up to the scenes we saw in the first main trailer of Arya running through Winterfell in obvious distress (which again we get a flash of in this trailer). This is where Winterfell is lost and where we also might see a significant number of innocent lives lost to the Dead Army.
