Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Bells' REALLY Means
7. Jon's Revelation
Though it cost him his life, Varys was right about Dany and Jon should have listened to her. Then again, hindsight is a wonderful thing and it's hard to argue against the sweet, sweet draw of your auntie's sex when you've got Targaryen blood running through your penis veins.
Eventually, though, Jon started to see the signs - which involved people being burnt to death, sexually assaulted and massacred mere feet away from his own eyes - and he had his key epiphany. Essentially, Dany is bad now, Jon knows as much and this can only lead to one reality: he and Dany are going to war and he's going to have to cut his way through Grey Worm on the way.
This episode was heavily into the imagery of the true cost of war, with both Arya and Jon experiencing it all first hand among the people of King's Landing and both coming to slightly different conclusions about violence.
