5. ...But Few Others Do

It's not going to be a blood bath, no matter how hard you hope.

We've seen the majority of the deaths for this season already and the fact that we've already seen some characters waved off to their weird and deeply unexpected happy endings (like Tormund, Yara and Gendry, for instance), it feels a lot like the trigger-happy culling is done.

That doesn't mean NOBODY will die, but to stuff in lots of deaths into the finale would be a disservice to the most important death - Dany's. If you take away her platform, you dilute the impact (which is one of the most legitimate criticisms of how Cersei's death was handled, actually). We need to really feel it and to see every ounce of the struggle that goes into making it happen.

So even though characters like Sansa, Brienne, Pod and Davos might have looked like some of the most vulnerable at times not so long ago, they're probably all safe. And that's a good thing, because no downer ending really matters without others than in-universe to feel it.
