Game Of Thrones Season 8: Every Death Ranked Worst To Best
6. Rhaegal
Poor, sweet Rhaegal. With Dany teetering on the edge thanks to the wider revelation of Jon's true parentage and the perceived threat to her claim to the Iron Throne, the second of her dragons ended up taking the long nap under the sea.
Rhaegal always had to die, because the build up the Bells was very much geared towards stabbing at Dany's heart and pushing her over the precipice into emotional volatility and killing another of her "children" was a quick way to achieve that.
It was made even more brutal by the fact that this was basically the first we'd seen of the creature back to reasonable health after the Night King's attack on him. No sooner does he get his wings back than he's in a tight spin towards the sea with his neck ruptured courtesy of Euron Greyjoy's scorpion. Harsh but effective.
