Game Of Thrones Season 8: Every Death Ranked Worst To Best
5. The Night King
For as long as there's a Game Of Thrones fanbase, there will be discourse on where the death of the Night King comes in the final season. After we were told for several seasons that "winter was coming" the Dead Army ended up only being the prelude to the main event - well the introduction to the prelude to the main event, actually.
That's not to say that The Battle Of Winterfell wasn't exceptional spectacle film-making at its best, though, because for all the complaints about its lighting issues, it still ranks right up with the best battle episodes of the entire eight season run.
And right up until the moment he's defeated, the Night King looks pretty unstoppable, carving a path through Dany and Jon's forces with relative ease and closing in on Bran in the Godswood. But then everything was turned on its head as Arya pulled off the hail Mary to end all hail Marys and fulfilled her own destiny by driving the catspaw dagger into old horny-head's belly.
If you'd expected it to come when it did, you must have some serious crystal balls on you and I'd recommend playing the lottery.
