3. Lyanna Mormont

From the moment young Lyanna Mormont appeared on screen, fans fell in love with her so it's fitting that the most unexpectedly beloved character should get one of the most badass deaths of the entire show.

Unfortunately for her fans, she was always going to die when she refused to run away from her duties to defend Winterfell, which is why Jorah's reaction to her felt like such sad acceptance. He knew that the same defiant blood coursing through his veins meant it was pointless arguing with her.

It was always going to take something truly special to take her down though and it was great to see that special treatment delivered on when a giant wight barged into Winterfell, smashed her out and the way and then crushed her to death when she refused to give up her position. And OF COURSE she managed to still take the giant down with her: why would you even question that?
