17. Beric Dondarrion

When he made it through season 7's explosive ending, it became very clear that Beric Dondarrion had a higher purpose than simply being around to help. Surely, the Lord Of Light genuinely was protecting him for that purpose.

It turned out that his purpose was to save Arya from the wights in order that she could be the one to kill the Night King. After her excellent library scene, she was almost overrun before Beric and The Hound helped her escape and he was given the most loaded death of all, sacrificing himself (and striking a crucifixion pose for good measure) to allow her to live.

It was always going to happen that he'd sacrifice himself, so it wasn't one of the most notable exits, but it was good to see him live out his destiny.
