Game Of Thrones Season 8 Finale: Every Survivor's Ending Ranked Worst To Best
2. Tyrion Lannister
When Tyrion freed Jaime to go and help Cersei escape King's Landing, his card was seriously marked and the chance of him getting out of this whole mess alive looked flimsy at best. But he's proven himself tenacious pretty much since the day he was born, so it's no real surprise that he managed to make it out alive, even when he was threatened with execution.
Tyrion ended up being the king maker at the end of things, choosing Bran as the prospective candidate for the throne and eloquently explaining why he was the right choice. This followed pretty closely on from him convincing Jon that he had to kill Dany for the good of the realm, himself and his family.
After he was sidelined and badly treated by the writers for so long, actually seeing Tyrion do something (and something legitimately right, on top of that) was an interesting and very welcome swerve. And were it not for one other character, the fact that he ends up sitting as the Hand of a king with no real interest in ruling (basically making HIM the king in all but name) would have made him the biggest winner of all.
But that title belongs further north.
