Game Of Thrones Season 8 FINALLY Has An Official Airdate

The end is nigh.

Hot on the heels of EW's huge blowout for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones (which we dissected extensively here), the official Twitter has now unveiled a brand new teaser that's finally confirmed an airdate of April 2019.

Though HBO have been tight-lipped about when the show would actually be returning for its final run of episodes, April was the month most often rumoured, and while there's no confirmation as to the actual date of the premiere (knowing these guys though it'll be the 30th), it's still good to know there's a month officially locked in.

Unfortunately, while the teaser did bring with it an actual launch period, it didn't include any footage from the final season. Still, the whole marketing push so far has been about looking back at the legacy the series has built and bringing it to a conclusion, a theme which this latest trailer full embraces. It's still a long ways off yet, but at least we can now all pencil in the dates we're going to have our hearts broken on next year.
