It's a tragedy that a lot of fans who decided to burn all of their Game Of Thrones bridges because "season 8 is a disgrace and a betrayal to the show" might not watch this documentary, because they really need to.

It answers some of the most fundamental issues that a lot of people had with the show, like challenging the idea that it was rushed or that they could have just gone longer and shot more and maybe done more seasons. You watch these people breaking themselves for this art and you understand. At one point, a producer says words to the effect of "it has to finish because it can't get any bigger."

And as for the cast? In the wake of Dany's decimation of King's Landing, videos appeared online - absolutely out of context - suggesting that they were unhappy with the ending and disappointed by the season as a whole. Watch them reading the scripts for the first time during the table read and then reassess your assumptions. Conleth Hill is devastated at Varys' death and is consoled by his fellow actors, Iain Glen's death is met with reverence and upset, Kit Harington is stunned by Dany's death... It's not fake and it's in no way the mark of a disappointed cast.

Later, Glen says "the ending makes sense" and offering his thought that Jorah's death leads to Dany's breakdown very precisely, but there's no way the fans who've imagined their own narrative will even listen.
