5. No Battle Of The Blackwater

So many storylines would never have taken place had Daenerys invaded, but one of the most significant would be Stannis' attempted conquest of King's Landing. The Battle of Blackwater would never have happened, and if Daenerys arrived in Westeros, Stannis' claim could bizarrely have grown stronger. He's a cold man. Calculated and composed, but not loved. If the Dothraki were truly pillaging the smallfolk, Stannis could've led his forces into battle against the Dothraki and won the hearts of the nation. Complications would include his still-alive brother/rival Renly and the fact that defeating a horde in the field would be incredibly difficult, but the logic is there. Stannis could've dug a foothold back on the mainland.
