Game Of Thrones Vs. Lord of The Rings: 12 Epic Deathmatches We Want To See

Okay, so if the idea of dragons flying into battle against the fell-beasts of Mordor wasn't enough to get you excited, imagine a final showdown between the Night's King, the White Walkers and his wights, and Sauron, armed with the One Ring and a legion of orcs.

There's nothing that really needs to be said about Sauron that hasn't already been said. The guy had so much "cruelty...malice, and...will to dominate all life" that he had to forge a magic ring to store the excess in. If only he'd worn a thicker pair of gloves during the battle with Isildur he wouldn't have needed to confine himself to being a fiery eye in the sky.

Flipping into Westeros, the White Walkers are still an unknown force. While fans got a great tease for them during 'Hardhome' it's still tough to work out how vast their power is, though all evidence suggests 'colossal'.

This would be the ultimate war between ice and fire, and on this occasion, a fit and firing Sauron complete with a ring on his finger (and those previously mentioned padded gloves) is unstoppable. The ultimate showdown winner simply has to be Sauron.

Result: Sauron Wins

That takes the scores to 6-5 in favour of Lord of the Rings, and obviously that's without including Gandalf, for whom there is no Game of Thrones equivalent worthy of even stepping into the same ring with him.
