Game Of Thrones: 10 Flashbacks That Must Be In Season 5
3. The Sack Of Kings Landing
This is the event that set up the Lannisters as the traitors and power players we are accustomed to in Game of Thrones. With the battle won at the Trident, focus turned to Kings Landing. Unfortunately, Robert Baratheon had been injured in the fight and was unable to ride; instead sending his most trusted ally Ned Stark to claim the capital. However, when Ned arrived he found the city already sacked by Lannister forces, purportedly as a show of fealty to the rebellion. With the city sacked, Aerys ordered Jaime Lannister to kill his father as a traitor, while fellow Kingsguard knight Lord Rossart was told to burn the city to the ground with wildfire. Of course, Jaime didnt do that and instead slayed Rossart and killed the Mad King, thus earning him the moniker of Kingslayer for the rest of his life. Most of all, this scene would be great to witness because wed get to see the exchange between Ned Stark and Jaime Lannister when Ned finds him sat upon the Iron Throne. Add in that wed get to see Sean Bean reprise his role as Lord Stark in his prime, which would be awesome for him, and us, and you have very little reason not to do it.
