Game Of Thrones: 10 New Characters For Season 5

8. Victarion Greyjoy

Victarion Greyjoy is another of Balon's brothers and another uncle of Theon, who worked with his brother Euron in the pre-show Greyjoy Rebellion and won several important battles, but his family lost nonetheless. Victarion holds the title of Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet, meaning he is pretty much the Admiral of the Iron Islands' navy. After the rebellion, Euron sleeps with Victarion's wife, causing his banishment and earning Victarion's eternal hatred. Victarion attempts to become King of the Iron Islands following Balon's death, but Euron is chosen instead, and though he hates Euron, he remains loyal to his king and conducts many successful raids under orders. At the end of Book 4, Euron sends Victarion and most of the Iron Fleet to Meereen in order to seduce Daenerys Targaryen and bring her and her dragons to Westeros. The king had given Victarion the dragon horn before he left so that he could enslave Daenerys' dragons, but Victarion suspects the horn will kill him if he blows it. At the end of Book 5, the Iron Fleet enters Slavers' Bay and sights Meereen. Victarion will likely one of the bigger additions to the cast in early Season 5, but will become less prominent as the season progresses. Expect his appearance in 6 or 7 episodes.
